Quarry Island Films was formed in the UK in 2013 to make entertaining and interesting films with big ideas.
The company is headed by British-Canadian Janet Wells who has worked in Development at Capitol Films and as a screenwriter for Eon (the James Bond company). She has an MA in screenwriting from London College of Communication (UK), an MBA from Insead (France) and a BCom from Queen’s University (Canada) and lectures regularly at Lincoln University in Screenwriting and Producing. In 2021, we are pleased to launch ‘Sleeping Warrior’, a feature length documentary about Africa’s first female lacrosse team and their journey to the world championships in Canada.
